Today I thought a shameless plug was in order.

One of the chores in my repertoire of tasks that make up my job, is I sell a range of Apple accessories to various customers.

One of these customers is Dick Smith, the electronic dick… Say whatever you like about Woolies and Coles, the lads and lasses at Dick Smith are a fine and noble bunch indeed.

So, if you are looking for a Xmas present for someone, I will not only share a couple of options with you that you may like, I will also provide you with a link where you can purchase them online.

Firstly, may I present the Kensington Keyfolio Pro. This product is so damn cool I’m actually using it to write this blog.

The Keyfolio gives you a protective cover for your iPad, while giving you a full Bluetooth Keyboard to use with it. This makes typing far easier, and also gives you the use of your full iPad screen as the bottom of it does not need to show the keypad. The charge on the keyboard seems to last an eternity, and the Keyfolio also acts as a stand for watching video’s etc.

Beware of other brands though… The Kensington is no more expensive than others, but others are a cheaper make. The Kensington allows you to have your iPad in Portrait, or Landscape mode, others don’t, and the Kensington is slim and lightweight, other models are like carrying an encyclopedia…

Kensington’s range of accessories are a cut above the brands you find in most retailers. For example, their car chargers are all 2.1 amp which means they charge at a faster rate than others, and they are the correct specs for charging an iPad, most chargers on the market are half the capacity.

Here is a link to the Kemsington products on the Dick Smith website, you won’t find them cheaper elsewhere…

If you need a way to play your iPod/iPhone through your car stereo, the best way is with the Kensington Car Charger Deluxe, as it has an AUX Cable as well as a car charger. if you don’t have an AUX connection, you will need a FM Transmitter so you can listen via your radio.

When it comes to FM Transmitters, there is crap, and there is the iTrip.

The iTrip products are made by Griffin Technology, and are the worlds leading brand of FM Transmitters with good reason. Stronger signals, ease of tuning in, and style and simplicity are all features of the iTrip.

The regular iTrip is even useful at home. It can be tuned in via your home stereo so you can control the tracks from anywhere in the house, handy for parties.

Below is a link to the iTrips at Dick Smith.

I hope this helps with your Xmas shopping, if you want any advice on all things iPod/iPhone, just let me know.

Your support will ensure I have enough alcohol over the Xmas period to enable to cope with my family.

Happy Xmas shopping.
