Over the last week the Party that gags debate on Marriage Equality, votes against political donations disclosure, and passed measures to protect over 600 multi-million companies from income transparency for tax purposes came out swinging.
Unfortunately for them however every landed blow was in their own faces.

It’s easy to say all the right things, any fool can do that, but it is your actions that people will judge you by.
Just ask Tony Abbott, who came out declaring no cuts to health, no cuts to education, and no cuts to the ABC and SBS prior to the last election, and then seemed surprised by the backlash after he broke his word on every one of those issues.
Over the last few weeks the Greens have acted in a manner that contradicts many of their stated principles that they have often claimed they would not compromise on or negotiate on. However getting rid of the preference system is apparently worth negotiating with the likes of Malcolm Turnbull, Eric Abetz, Cory Bernardi and George Christensen, as these preference deals are damaging our democracy said Richard Di Natale at a press conference with Lee Rhiannon nodding at his side.
So do the actions match the rhetoric?
Last week the Greens wanted to lecture us all about the duck shooting season in Victoria and blame Labor for the shooting seasons that have been in place since guns were invented. Prior to that they were killed via other methods.
In NSW the MP many may remember from the promo video for AGL the country’s biggest CSG Miner, Jeremy Buckingham added his voice to the fray speaking out in parliament about shooting animals.
The Andrews Labor government have listened to public concerns and as a result have drastically reduced the bag limits so shooters can’t kill as many ducks, they have shortened the season, and they have closed several of the wetlands.
Last week in Victorian parliament the Greens sought to end all that.
In a notice of motion from Sue Pennicuik that was heavily supported by the Shooters and Fishers the Greens signalled their intent to turn the wetlands into a total free-for-all.

The Greens notice of motion tabled in parliament
If the Greens motion were to be passed the season would be extended back to where it was under the Liberal government, closed wetlands would once again become scenes of slaughter, and shooters would be able to bag double the number of kills each day.
Today on social media Ms Pennicuik signalled that the motion would be amended next week when parliament resumes, we will wait and see if the actions match the words this time.

If this was indeed an error it is a pretty big one. Drafting a notice of motion calling for the opposite of what you seek to achieve doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. In fact this level of incompetence makes me glad we don’t have a nuclear weapons programme that the Greens could ever put motions forward on, lest we nuke China by mistake.

Oops
A reader today made this comment to me regarding the Oop’s I Did It Again notice of motion
“Would have been much funnier if the shooters kept quiet and they still put it up”
I guess it also says something about the competence of the Shooters & Fishers that they couldn’t keep quiet for a few days and be in a position to make even bigger fools of the Greens and achieve an extended season for their gun-toting constituents by capitalising on the error. I guess this makes them premature agitators, and when it comes to political shots they are only capable of firing blanks.

The Shooters & Fishers response to the Greens notice of motion
Anyway while the shooters continue to shoot at harmless birds and the Greens continue to shoot themselves in the foot it will be up to Labor to sort out the mess.
I guess that’s nothing new though…

Look let me greensplain
Astounding-really?-you don`t say-is that so-what no ad hominem attack and how many ducks has Labor imprisoned before torturing them and finally rendering them to “Duck A La Orange`”
Truly I thought you Greens were past all this senseless slaughter of wildlife
Richard di Natale will feed you all the goose you can handle
I truly..TRULY try & understand the mindset of people like Elmer Fudd..oops…mean Daniel Young, MLC for Ducks. I once long ago, knew some really nice people in Seymour, Victoria too! Im sure they were not like this guy, who obviously gets his kicks from inflicting unwarranted pain & suffering upon the innocent amongst us.
All a bit like ISIS isnt it?
What is wrong with these people ? Is it that the earth is reversing polarity,?.
Greens and Labor are both parties of the left. Unless you want to live under perpetual conservative governments, while the parties on the left bicker among themselves, here’s an idea – HOW ABOUT WE TRY TACKLING THE OTHER TEAM?
